FAMILY CRISIS COUNCIL OF ROWAN COUNTY
The Family Crisis Council of Rowan County is a non-profit agency that specializes in helping those affected by rape, incest, sexual assault and domestic violence.
The Mission of the Family Crisis Council is to help victims of rape, incest, sexual assault and domestic violence rebuild their lives and eliminate violence in our community by awareness, prevention activities, court advocacy, emergency shelter, 24 hour crisis support, information/referral services and individual and group counseling services. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, please call 911. If you would like to talk to one of our trained representatives about yourself, a friend or a family member, please call us 24-hours a day at 704-636-4718 (press 1). Our agency was incorporated in 1978 as The Rape, Child and Family Abuse Crisis Council of Salisbury-Rowan, Inc. All of our services are FREE of charge. We were fortunate to have members of our local community committed to the development of services to victims of family violence and sexual assault. In 1979, shortly after we incorporated, we became a United Way agency. Without the consistent support of the Rowan County United Way, the Family Crisis Council would have significant difficulty providing the services needed in our county.
